Before I Die, I Want To?

What is truly important in life? This question is often asked when life has already passed.

Before I Die, I Want To? Is a work of the American artist Candy Chang. She developed this community art project to just step out of the daily routine and to reflect on what is really important: contact with others. She painted a blank wall in her neighborhood in New Orleans with blackboard paint and invited the residents of the phrase Before I Die, I Want To? - To be completed. Soon the wall was full of locals and learned a lot about themselves and each other. Chang developed a do-it-yourself package that interested parties can carry out the project in their own neighborhood. In the past few years it has been realized worldwide more than 500 times in 70 different countries.

Before I Die, I Want To? Can be seen at the moment in Amsterdam at the Sarphatipark. Free entry. It remains open till Sunday, June 14th at 16:00.
