Welcome to new FIAT-IFTA President 2010 - 2012

 

Immediate Past President Mr. Chen Qunlin ( P.R. of CHINA) welcomes new International President,  Mr. Gus Nichols (IRELAND) at the 11th FIAT-IFTA International Convention - Beijing, 22 - 26 June 2010.

The 11th FIAT-IFTA International Convention that has taken place in Beijing and in Shanghai, June 21 – June 28, 2010 has been an overwhelming experience.

The achievements in the two years President Mr. Chen Qunlin and his staff of CFA - The China Funeral Association -  have culminated in the days of this Convention.

Funeral Service Directors from 30 countries have gathered in meetings, technical visits and festivities. A Funeral Repatriation specialist from the United Kingdom told that he never has had such a great value for his money at any international venue before.

Friday 20 November 2009 at the Headquarters UNESCO, Paris. Members of the FIAT-IFTA Funeral Heritage Committee have met Mrs. Marie-Ange Theobald , Chief Section Non-governmental organizations of UNESCO. It was mutually aknowledged that FIAT-IFTA is the appropriate institution to cooperate with the UNESCO World Heritage Center.

Together with Mr. Francesco Bandarin, the newly nominated Assistant Director General for Culture; Mrs. Cecile Duvelle, Chief Division of Cultural Objects and Intangible Heritage and Mr. George Poussin, Chief Section Culture FIAT-IFTA focusses on setting up a Committee of Funeral Heritage Experts and the International Association of Funeral Museums.

IN MEMORIAM DARYL BLACKWELL 1925 – 2010

FIAT-IFTA Associate Member Mr. Ken Maurer of Maurer Funerals, Australia has informed the Board of FIAT-IFTA of the passing away of Mr. Daryl Blackwell – National President 1973 - 1974 of AFDA and International FIAT-IFTA President 1980 – 1982. The Board of FIAT-IFTA wished to offer the deepest  condolences to the family and relatives.
