Our deepest condolences
to the people of Japan

Sad news from Japan. Mr Shinzo Abe, Japan's former prime minister, was shot on July 8th during a campaign speech in the western city of Nara prefecture. The assassination sent shockwaves through Japan, where both gun crime and political violence are extremely rare. Yesterday, 12th  July, a funeral ceremony was held in ZOUJYOUJI TEMPLE at Minato-ku, Tokyo. The board members of ZENSOREN attended the ceremony to express their condolences.

Last year, we were honoured to receive a kind message of congratulations from Mr Shinzo Abe on the occasion of the FIAT-IFTA's 50th Anniversary conference and Zensoren's 65th Anniversary.

On behalf of the entire FIAT-IFTA Board of Directors and the members of our organization, I express my sincere and deepest condolences to the Japanese people and the members of ZENSOREN on the shocking death of Mr Shinzo Abe, Japan's former prime minister, whom was shot on July 8th during a campaign speech in the western city of Nara prefecture.

We will remember Mr Shinzo Abe's with fondness and will be always grateful for his support to our organization's activities at the FIAT-IFTA's 50th Anniversary conference and Zensoren's 65th Anniversary conference last year. May his soul rest in peace.

We join in the pain of the Japanese people.

Mr Marek Cichewicz, President of FIAT-IFTA
