Funeral Heritage Reports

FIAT-IFTA Funeral Heritage Reports published in 2010 - 2012 - 2014 and 2016

At the 9th FIAT-IFTA International Convention 2008 in Barcelona, Members have established the FIAT-IFTA Heritage Steering Committee. Its mission is formulated in the Charter of Global Funeral Heritage. In 2020 the name of the Committee has been changed into: FIAT-IFTA Funeral Heritage Board.

The 1st Heritage Report was published in 2010. The 2nd Heritage Report in 2012. In 2014 followed the 3rd Heritage Report and in 2016 the 4th Heritage Report appeared. The 5th FIAT-IFTA Heritage Report 2020 is published in January 2021.

With these publications FIAT-IFTA and IAFM aim to preserve and to safeguard the Global Funeral Heritage in joint effort with other organizations. The focus is also on creating international awareness.In collaboration with the National Members many interesting articles have highlighted traditions, customs and artifacts that still exist today in relation to death, funerals and bereavement.

The printed edition of FIAT-IFTA Funeral Heritage Report 2020 will be made available from March 2021.
